Is it Friday yet???

Yes, I am ready to go. I have my stuff packed. All I have to do is grab the things at the last minute. You know pillow, medicine, comb, and brush. I was going to put another picture of the kids on here from when they were here but the camera is at the bottom of my suitcase. Yes, it is packed - even with spare batteries. Oh, maybe I should take that one game I have. I know the next 2 days will go fast but I am really excited about going to Wichita. Well I guess I better get to heading out the door to go to work. P.S. Don't expect any more postings until after I get to Wichita.

What do I blog about?

Everyone keeps asking me why I haven't blogged. I have nothing to blog about. I have this very boring life - I go to work, come home and sit wrapped up in a blanket until it is time to go to bed. I am on the computer for a little while. Having high speed has helped cut down on the amount of time I spend on the computer. Then I go to bed and start all over. Yes, I have some exciting events coming up. Like going to Wichita to see my wonderful grandchildren. I have another month to wait until going to "Women of Faith" and of course in April I will be attending the Husker spring game. I also look forward to warmer weather. I haven't had excitement since the backdraft and no more critters in my house - however, there was a possum on the deck when I came home from Tekamah on Saturday. He ran off when I pulled in. I guess I will try to put some pictures of my babes on here.

Backdraft

Have you ever seen that movie "Backdraft"? It has been some time since I have seen the movie but when the firemen open the door the flames just leap out in a fury and it kind of sounds like you would think hell would be like. It is exactly like the movie. How do I know? Well I had a small backdraft last night. I was going to check the wood stove. There are these 3 little holes in the door of the stove so I could see that it was not burning very good. I thought I would just open the door, stir up the fire and head to bed. Well I opened the door and all of a sudden flames were leaping out and sounded like a devil's growl. I quickley slammed the door shut but it was too late. I cinged my hair and my eyelashes. My eyelashes are very, very short. I don't think mascara would even help. I can't imagine what would have happened had I not had my glasses on. I won't be using the wood stove until I can get someone to clean the chimney.

I will be posting some pictures from the weekend tonight. I have to get a birthday card ready for a very special grandson who turns 8 tomorrow. I forgot it at home yesterday so I couldn't mail it so it is going to be late. Sorry Levi. I hope everyone has a great day.

Speedy is fast

Ha, you thought I was talking about my internet didn't you? Well yes it is fast but Speedy (one of the outside cats) was pretty fast this morning. As I was going out the door this morning I grabbed the cup that I put cat food in to feed the outside cats. Well when I went to reach in I heard something. Yes, there it was, a mouse in the bag of cat food in the closet. I go and grab Pole who had just been given a can of cat food. I was trying to stick his nose in the bag to see the mouse and I see 2 mice not one. Well needless to say he didn't want anything to do with them. I wanted to tell him "Your fired" I just didn't know how I was going to feed the outside cats. All I could think about was dumping the bag on the floor so the mice would run out and Pole would get them. Then I finally thought "well that's real dumb. Why not take the bag outside and pour it into the cat's pan?" So that's exactly what I did. I shut the bag tight so they wouldn't jump out while I was headed outside with the bag in my hand. I poured out the food and one of them was running around the pan and Speedy was real fast. Grabbed that little thing up and wolfed it right down. I don't know if the other one is still in the bag or not. I wasn't going to look. I'll just be very careful when I get the food in the morning. I think I need a rubber maid container for the cat food. That should solve the problem. I can handle the mice better than a snake but you know if there are mice there are snakes, so I think I better try to get rid of the mice. I don't want a food source for snakes. Now that I have faster internet does that mean I will have more time for cleaning or will it mean that I am on the computer more? We will have to wait and see. I also need to post a picture of snow for Amy. She just can't understand why I don't go to the cemetary. I told her there is too much snow. I told her if she wants to go to the cemetary that she better bring her boots. She said they have had a lot of snow but it melted. I told her it won't melt under 32 degrees. I guess I better go get the pictures off my camera and then go get some wood hauled in. There is still daylight left. (That doesn't happen very often for me by the time I get home.)

Ok that's it - I give up

Well here I am back home. After using my computer a little last night and a little tonight - I give up. I am calling the phone company tomorrow to check on getting high speed internet. I can't handle this slow stuff any more. Hopefully I can set it up for late Friday afternoon so that Amy can be here for them to come install it. No wonder I didn't like blogging. It took too long. I will try to keep you posted on what's happening until I am "Up to Speed" but don't hold your breath.

I want to go to Christmas Kreme

I decided I would sleep on the couch tonight so that Bo could get used to sleeping in his own bed again. Cameron and Bo had been sleeping on the top bunk and I was sleeping on the bottom. As Robert was tucking Cameron in bed he told him that we were going to go for breakfast in the morning. Cameron said he wanted to go to Christmas Kreme aka: Krispy Kreme. It was so cute the way he said it. I have been trying to talk to them today about me going home tomorrow. I think there are going to be a lot of tears with the boys and with me. Tonight I got some pictures of Robert and the boys wrestling around. I will have to post them after I get home. Course I really like blogging since I have high speed internet. I think I am going to have to check into that at home. It is so much nicer. I actually have my password so that I can blog memerized. Well I guess I better get off of this computer and go watch some tv with Robert. I don't think we have even had time to relax and watch tv together.
