Across the finish line

Here is Amy coming down the stretch. She had just rounded the corner and didn't have far to go. In fact I took this picture and then couldn't get another sight on her. By the time I got ready to take the picture she ran right out of the picture. I guess Mark got a good picture of her. He missed Brita. She had to pretend she was running again and he took her picture. I didn't want to put Amy through that after she took her shoes off.

Here is the picture of her blister. Ouch!!!! She did an awesome job considering the pain she must have felt with that blister.

Here we are going up to her. Chris got to her first. She was crying. I thought they were tears of joy for completing the run. If I was running that's what it would be with me. She was not happy with her run. You will have to check out her blog. She doesn't want me talking about it.

Here she is getting some hugs.

Here she is with some of the people from her running club that also ran.

I was sitting on the floor after looking at the newspaper ads. Amy told Lillie to help me up. She was trying.

Get Your Motor Runin

Well here is Amy and Josh getting ready to go to a house warming party. They decided to put the kids to bed and take the bike. Amy was not real sure about this. She told me where to find the keys to the van in case she did not return. They have since returned and her "butt" hurts. Hopefully it doesn't interfere with her running the 1/2 marathon tomorrow. 13.1 miles is a little bit of a distance.

Does she look like a biker chick?

Here is a picture of my house that I hope to buy. I just need to close on my house in Nebraska and I will have met the requirements.

Here is the garage

The back yard. I will need a patio set don't you think?

Isn't this really nice? The tree in the front yard also has the landscaping bricks around it too.

Here is the little shed for storage.

This is looking into the kitchen from the front door.

This is the bedroom downstairs. You can see it is very small. I think my computer desk is too much for this room. I might need to put the safe in here. I'm not sure yet.

This is the sink in the downstairs bathroom. It is in the corner right when you walk into the bathroom.

This is the very small family room downstairs. I may put my computer in here or else the safe.

Here is the downstairs bathroom. The washer and dryer will be in here. The shower across from the toilet.

This is the 2nd bedroom upstairs.

Here is the master bedroom. Nice huh?

This is the closet in the master bedroom. There are also a row of shelves in there.

Here is the bathroom. It has the same exact medicine cabinet as my house in Nebraska. I love the shower curtain rod. It is one of those curved ones.

Here is the living room. The fireplace really works and has a blower to put heat back into the house.

This is what it looks like looking towards the front door and the downstairs and upstairs.

Here is the dining area. The sliding glass doors are like the doors on my house in Craig. These are a little bit better because they have the blinds in side the glass

Here is the kitchen. Nice huh? The appliances are included. I'm movin up in the world. I will have a garbage disposal and a dishwasher.

Here is the living room looking in from the dining area. Notice the lights on the wall. Cool huh?

Job hunting

Wow I just read my last post. I guess I better update my blog so everyone knows what is going on. I know some of you know some of the details.

On Wednesday I called for a new realtor. I didn't get Brandon and Emily's friend because she was out of town. I ended up talking to the lady who had shown me the house I really liked. There was another house a couple of blocks from the "nice" one that looked similar on the Internet. It was 5,000 less than the "nice" house. We met the lady over there and she showed us the house. It needs some new windows, the garage door doesn't go down all the way, it needs a new seal in the downstairs bathroom and it also needs new sliding glass doors installed. The kitchen floor was new but whoever did it - didn't know what they were doing. Oh and the venting on the furnace was not done correctly. That is the stuff the realtor pointed out to me. She said she could show us the other house again. After seeing the house again, it was like whoa I like this house better. Well Joy didn't want to represent the buyer and the seller so she ended up referring me to someone else in their office. So now my realtor's name is Paul and he is very on top of everything. I went over to their office and he helped me to make an offer on the house. I ended up offering 4,500 less than what they were asking. I ended up missing water aerobics Wednesday night. I didn't get back to Amy's until about 8:00.

On Thursday morning Amy and I went to the East Y. She ran on the treadmill and I walked the track. I did over 2 miles. We came back to her house and I finished filling out job applications and took them back to the stores. Thursday was a ucky rainy day. I was initiated well into city life that day. I took apps. back to Bath & Body, Yankee Candle, Christopher and Banks, and Sears Portrait Studio. I then left the mall and Amy called and asked if I would run by a bank to pick up some free clothes for Levi from a lady. I did that and wasn't quite sure where I was at. I ended up figuring out the Target on Greenwich was not that far away. I went there to look for a plastic drawer thing to put some of my clothes in. (It is not easy living out of a suitcase - all the time.) When I just got back to the storage things Paul called. The people had accepted the offer but changed some words. I have to have my house closed on in Nebr. and have a job before Oct. 3 or the contract is void. Paul needed me to come initial some stuff. It was 4:10 and Amy has to leave at 5 to go for water aerobics. I still had my bag with my suit in the car so I thought "Well maybe I can get this done and make it to Cessna for class.) I called Amy and got directions on how to get back out to the realtor's office. I am going down K96 and traffic has slowed way down. Yes, I was slowed down by an accident. I made it past that and thought I was on my way. I took the road just like Amy said that goes to Hutchinson. Well I am in the left lane and traffic is coming onto the road from the left. There was a car trying to come on. I was trying to let him in and he wasn't coming over so I started to speed up. Well he ran out of road and I couldn't get over because there was traffic next to me. I thought sure I was going to hit him and I was trying to get stopped and I know I must have swerved into the right lane a little. I must have shut my eyes waiting for the crash because I don't know how none of us kept from colliding into one another. Man was my heart a beating. I called Amy almost in tears. I thought I had gone too far and then I saw where I was suppose to get off to go to Ridge Road. I made it to the relator's office, did my initials, got back in the car and called Amy for directions to Cessna. I was very confident that everything was just fine. I was suppose to take Kellogg to I135 and then take the exit to church. Piece of cake right? Wrong! I am within 2 miles of the exit and traffic is at a slower pace than before. Yes, you guessed it. Another accident. I am in the middle lane. We are creeping along very slowly. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get in the right hand lane to take my exit. Well I didn't have to worry about that because pretty soon I could hear the fire trucks coming. I thought they would go down the right hand side and no they start heading over to where I am at. I can't move. Finally the car to the right of me got out of the way so that I could move. Now I am taking the exit before I am suppose to. I did not like those fire trucks behind me blasting that big ole horn. I had to call Amy to get new directions. I got those and was on my way. I got to Cessna just before Amy.

On Friday I had to go into Wichita for a job interview at Yankee Candle. It seemed to go OK. Friday night it was off to the south y for water aerobics again. I really love that. It is a lot of fun and of course afterwards we sat in the hot tub, steam room and the sauna.

Saturday morning Levi was suppose to have a football game but it was cancelled because of the flooding south of here. The kids from Winfield couldn't make it to Rose Hill.

Sunday it was off to church. I had to go back to Target up at Greenwich. I didn't get all of my stuff that I had bought on Saturday. I got my stuff and came back to Amy's. They were not here so I went over to the brand new Target in Derby that opens Oct.12. I filled out an application. It took about an hour and a half to fill that out. Then I went and picked up an application at Kohl's and also went to check about Lowe's. I came back to Amy's and then I began making deer stew for supper.

Monday morning I had an interview at Target. They did a first and second interview. Then in the afternoon I had an interview at Bath and Body. That was really weird. They did 4 interviews all at the same time. At least I knew what the others said but then they knew what I said too. I had to go back to Amy's and then went back in for water aerobics. I had to meet her there because she had to go downtown to try to get some stuff straightened out with her running shoes.

Yesterday morning Amy had to go run 4-400's. Lillie wanted to run too! So I went with and took took the stroller with Ethan. She was so cute running on the track. After a while she told me she wanted to get in the stroller. I told her she said she wanted to run so I said you can walk for a while. Then she'd run again. We ended up making 5 laps ourselves. She was so cute. She would stop and say "feet hurt". When we got in the van off came the shoes and socks. She was looking at her foot saying "feet hurt" and was rubbing her foot right where Amy gets blisters. Amy asked her if she had any blister's and she said "yah" - she didn't have any blisters. We came back to Amy's and then I had to get ready to go for another interview. This time it was Sears. Amy just drove in because she had wanted to look at the swimming suits at Sears. They had some good sales. In fact the day I picked up the applications I found another suit there for 11 something. It was regularly 78. I thought with all this water aerobics that my suit might wear out before swimsuit season begins again.

Well it has taken me a long time to get this done. I have been trying to help Lillie with potty training today. Well I have more news too. I got a job!!! I have to be at Bath and Body tomorrow at 10:00 which means after water aerobics tonight I have to go over to the other mall to CJ Banks. I must have missed a pile of clothes from my closet when we came down here. I don't have my brown, black and khaki pants. I have to have black or khaki pants for work and a white or black shirt. Luckily I have a black shirt here. Well I better get my stuff ready for going to the pool so I better get this posted. Till next time . . .

Whas up?

Well I just thought I would do a quick post to let everyone know what has been going on. We got to Wichita about 10:30 last Friday night. Amy and I were so tired that we left the stuff in the cars. Just got the coolers with food in the house, put it away and went to bed. On Saturday morning it was raining and Amy was trying to find out if Levi's football game was still on. It was his first game of the season and it was cold. I didn't have a jacket out so I froze. I did buy a Rose Hill Rockets umbrella to keep the rain off of me. The next thing I knew it was 1:00 and time for Amy to go do her 12 mile run. The kids were napping so I decided that I should too. I woke up to Amy pounding on the door trying to get in about 3:20.

Sunday I got up and checked the paper for open houses, and jobs. We went to second service at church and then Amy and I went to 3 open houses. The first one was really nice. It is down by where Amy's first house was. I was afraid the house was a little on the small side. Amy thinks its the perfect size for me. Guess I will need to get rid of some more stuff if I would happen to get that one. The other two we looked at were not that great. I guess with the first one it was just so nice. It has been redone. It was like a brand new house. We got home and then remembered that I was going to go to the Y to sign up. They had a special that ended Sunday. The joining fee was only 7 dollars compared to 50. I ended up going back into town while Amy started supper. I am really excited to be a member of the Y. Now I just need to get some kind of part time job at one of them so that my membership is free.

Monday we went to the state fair. If you had a Dillon's card you could get in free. It didn't cost anything for parking either. Much better value than the Nebr. state fair. We had a good time. The day went by very quickly. It was so cool that there was someone at the fair who had safes. I was able to check out the safes. They had state fair specials. I figured out what I want and then when we were on our way home I called Jason. Jason has a friend that sells these safes. Jason called me back later Monday night with a price. It was 1,000 lower than the state fair price.

Yesterday Amy and I had to go to Wichita. We went to Wal-Mart and I got a card for my laptop so that I can have wireless Internet at Amy's. Amy needs to get on the computer and a lot of times I was looking for jobs and places to live. This just makes it so much easier. Then I went bed shopping. She had to go downtown to the running store so she left and I went over to the mall and went looking for jobs. I picked up several applications and applied at Penneys. I have to get those filled out and take them back today.

So what is in store for today? I will be filling out applications and I need to send my resume to a few places on line. I also need to call a new realtor to see about looking at a couple of houses. Tony said he would go look at a place before an offer is made to give a man's view. Amy teaches water aerobics at Cessna at 5:30 so I will be going to that again. We had done that on Monday too. I will try to keep up with my blog a little bit better now that I have my laptop accessible to the Internet. The days are flying by and I need to find a job. I want to get that taken care of so that I can go back to Nebr. and finish the packing and get down here. It will be so nice when I have my own place. I really love being with the kids but I miss my own space. I'm sure Amy and Josh are ready for me to leave too so that my stuff is not in the way.
