Happy New Year!

Yea! I have kept last years New Year's Resolution. (Thanks to my sisters.) I have been thinking a lot about what my resolution for 2011 will be. Having a hard time. Some of my thoughts are: giving up Pepsi, quitting my farmville, and of course the one I really want but I am afraid that I will fail at is doing the 100 mile swim at the Y. That would take a big commitment. Course if I give up my farmville then maybe I would have enough time to do the swim.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I didn't get to go to Christmas Eve service since I was not feeling well. I was able to make it to Amy's on Christmas Day.

I am still on the mend from my knee surgery. I will be glad when it is all healed.

Well not much else is new here. I do need to get off the computer and work on cleaning up my house. I have company coming tonight!!!! Yea! I can't wait to see my sister's tonight.

Happy New Year!

TGFS

TGFS? What is that suppose to mean? It stands for Thank God For Sisters. I kind of spaced it off that today was the last day of the month. I was over at Amy's because my car was having issues. I was waiting for Josh to fix it and since Amy was not home - I was on her computer. I was checking my email to see if I had heard back from the gal at the East Y and I saw I had a post on my blog. About that time Josh came down to tell me that my car was done. He had to replace a spark plug. Yea! It wasn't a real expensive fix. So anyway Thank You Dixie! for reminding me that I had to make my post. That would be awful to mess up now with only one more post left.

I should have time to blog in December since I should be laid up. Less than a week until I have my right knee replaced. This time a total knee instead of just a partial.

This past month I went to Topeka to attend Relay University to try to learn new things to help improve our Relay for Life. It was an awesome time and I went up early to meet Robert. He even brought me Runza from Lawrence. It was really good even though the french fries were only warm.

I was so glad to spend a little time with my sisters when they were on their way to Texas for Thanksgiving.

I had an awesome Thanksgiving. Robert was not planning on coming until Thursday since Emily was coming with him. Emily's plans changed so they were able to come down on Wednesday night. YEA! I love Emily. She is so sweet. They showed up at the store since I was working Wed. night. We had just finished revealing the signs and just had to wait to make sure everything was checked by Mark & Justin. Gail said I could leave since Robert was in town. I was able to get off work at 9:30. On Thursday we just hung out and then we went to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries. We came home and watched a movie and then we decided to go to K-Mart to look around. As we were getting ready to leave I thought that I had better wash the dishes in the dishwasher so that I would have room for supper dishes. Robert was checking out the new dishwasher and thought he bumped the plates when he went to reach for a sticker in the bottom. We went to leave and Robert couldn't find his phone. When he stopped to think where he last had it he thought of the dishwasher. He opened the dishwasher and there was his phone. (His phone that he had just gotten the week before.) Amy, Josh and the kids came over about 6. We had brisket, baked potatoes, rolls, baked beans, cheesy corn, and 2 salads. We had cheese cake for dessert. It was so good.

We went to bed at 12:15 and got up at 3:45. We went to Target. I wanted to get some scooters for Cameron and Bo for Christmas. I also got a couple of movies. It was crazy because the line went all the way around the store. We were clear back by the electronics department. Luckily it started moving rapidly and it was not that bad. Then we did a short stop at Wal-Mart and were home at 6 and went back to bed. Got up at 9 and then Robert & Emily got their stuff ready to go. We then had to go to the Sprint store so that he could get his phone replaced. No - he did not have insurance on it. It is a company phone. You would think they would want the insurance. After he got the phone - they left for home and I went to work for 6 hours. I have never seen that store look so bad. It looked like a war zone. I spent the time trying to fold clothes. There were some tables that I gave up on because I didn't know where to start. They were just heaped with unfolded clothes.

Well I had better head to bed. I need to get some rest. I have a cold that I have to get rid of before surgery on Monday.

Oh in case I don't get posted before Christmas - Have a Merry Christmas.
Only one more post to go to have met my New Years Resolution. Yee Haw!

Happy Halloween!

Well here it is the day before Halloween - which means I only have 1 day until the end of the month. Only 2 more posts to go and I will have kept my resolution.

This month we celebrated Ethan's 3rd birthday. Hard to believe he is 3 years old already. He got some really cool birthday presents. Amy & Josh had a party for him and we had pizza. They got him one of those little tykes basketball hoops.

I went on a date this month. I don't think I am ready for dating. Hey at least I was able to get a free meal at Red Lobster. He wanted me to come over to his house for lunch but I said no. Then last week he showed up at the Y and wanted me to go out to eat but I said no and that I wasn't ready for dating.

Last week I went out to Tony & Sue's to celebrate Amy's birthday. A few of Amy's friends were there too.

It has been a very hard month as it has been 3 years since Bob died. There are so many days in October that you remember stuff. Like taking him to the ER on Oct. 6, putting him in the hospital, the day we were told he wasn't going to make it. The surgeries and many other memories.

Almost 2 weeks ago I had to bring the Christmas decorations for the store down. I need to get started on my own decorations. You know Christmas will be here before we know it. I will just be glad when black Friday is over. Actually that entire week is going to be exhausting. I sure wish I could find a job that wasn't in retail. Only 55 days until Christmas. Have a great month and try to stay warm.

Month 9 of my new years resolution

Well here it is the last day of September and it's almost bedtime and I have 2 bills to pay and need to post to my blog.

September has flown by. I have started teaching my own water class on Sunday afternoons. I also teach the first, third and fifth Saturday's of the month. It seems to be going well.

I went to the doctor last week and she took off a skin tag from my nose. She also removed a spot from my leg. I still need to call them to see what the results were. I'm sure it was nothing.

Penneys has begun getting ready for Christmas. We have lots of decorations for your home out and you can tell that "Christmas" gifts are being put out. You know like pjs, robes, etc.

Robert and the boys were here the weekend after Labor day. It was so fun because we went to a sports bar to watch the Husker game.

We had our relay wrap up meeting. I am looking forward to going to Relay University in November. It will be in Topeka. I also have to write an article on breast cancer before the 15th of Oct. for the relay newsletter.

I did get my Terry Redlin puzzle put together. It took a quite a while to get it done.

I got a new dishwasher. Haven't had a chance to use it since it was just installed yesterday.

Dixie was here and spent 2 nights with me. It was awesome. She even took my arthritis class. She did great except I did a little bit too much arms over the head exercises. She can even stand on one foot in the water.

Well guess what - there are only 85 days until Christmas. I guess I better get busy and try to get presents wrapped and start decorating my house.

Well have a great month and expect the next post on Halloween.

Happy 98th birthday Dad! I could say that I waited to post so I could put that in my blog - but that's not true. I knew August was going to fly by. This is post #8 for the year. Only 4 more to go and I will have actually kept a New Years Resolution. How many of you can say that you have kept a resolution? I must admit that I do believe it would be my first.

On the 4th I made a trip back to Nebr. It was a fast trip left Kansas on Wednesday and returned on Friday. I must say it was a very relaxing trip. You would have thought that I would have been exhausted but I wasn't.

On the 14th Amy, Levi, Lillie, Ethan, Evie and I met Dixie, Dude and Leon in Trash City (oops I mean Junction City). Lillie was calling in Trash City. Gotta love those 4 year olds. (The other day I had Lillie & Ethan in my car and I heard him say Trash City - cracked me up.) On the 15th we went to Wamego Kansas for the Burley family reunion. We are getting to be such a small group. I guess that's what happens when everyone gets older and the younger generations don't go to the reunions.

After the reunion I followed Robert back to KC. I watched the boys on the 16th and 17th. On the 16th I even had to take them to the school to see their classrooms. It was really cool. Cameron started school on the 17th and then Bo started on the 18th. After we got them off to school I headed back to Wichita.

On the 21st. I had to go take a class for the YMCA. It was a very long day from 8-6:30 but at least I passed the class and now can teach any water class. Yea!!

Well I guess that cover August. Do you realize that Christmas is only 116 days away? Maybe I should start wrapping presents now since I seem to struggle with that because of work hours during the holiday.

Well until Sept. 30. - have a great month!

It's not July 31 . . .

. . . and it's not 10 p.m. on the 31st. So what am I doing blogging? Good question. I think I was just trying to post before my sisters remind me that I haven't posted for the month yet. They sure keep me on my New Year's Resoulution. This is #7 for the year. Woo hoo. Only 5 more posts to go. They say it takes 30 days to make something a habit - does that mean that I have to blog for 30 months before it becomes a habit??? Good question to ponder.

I was going to try to post pictures from Run for Life but since they are on my facebook page I don't have to right??? Then I was going to post pictures of the winners of our biggest dog & smallest dog from the bark for life. Umm - it's not going to happen.

July is such a blur. All I can remember is the Run & Bark for Life. I did take a couple of vacation days to try to get some stuff done around here. Got some things done but not what I wanted to. August is shaping up to be a very busy month. Maybe I will have more to write about next month. I'm sure I will since we have the family reunion coming up, going to Robert's to take care of the boys for a few days after the reunion. Taking another class for the Y. Yup is going to be busy.

See ya next month. Let's see if I can post by August 25. Won't that be a shock if I actually do?

Houseguests

Well I really don't know what to write about and since it is June 30th I had better get busy. I have no clue where June went. I must have been sleeping.

I have had some house guest this past month. Dixie and Dude came down for Relay for Life. Dixie was on Amy's team and Dude was on my team. I still have a lot to learn about Relay. This was my first year as a team captain and I plan on next year being better.

Last week Michael's girlfriend was only 2 hours away so she came to my house to meet Amy and I. She spent the night with her little boy.

On Friday Miss Kim came to visit me. We had a blast. We did some shopping, eating, and even did some garage sales. We found a couple of really good buys. I got Ethan a firefighter dress up coat for 50 cents and Amy a long sleeve moisture wicking turtle neck for 50 cents that was brand new. It will be good for winter when she is out running. Oh I also got Ethan a wipe off board so that he can have his own to "write" on. Seems that someone erased Amy's schedule off her board last month. Luckily I had the time of her doctors appointment written down or she wouldn't have know what time her appointment was.

I can't believe that this weekend is July 4th! That means in less than 6 months it will be Christmas. Summer is going way to fast. I need to fit some water park time in. Hopefully I can figure out some time off from work. I just have to try to fit it in somewhere. July is going to fly by as we have 2 events going on with Relay.

Everyone have a wonderful and safe 4th of July and you'll probably see my next post on July 31.
